This Nanostructured Glass Can Store Your Memories Forever
Forever does exist.
Human memory will certainly fail at some point. No matter how young a person might be, there will always be instances when he or she will forget something, no matter how urgent, significant or insignificant that memory might be. There are also some cases called ‘amnesia’ when the memory of a patient is blot out whether completely, or not, either short-term or long-term. But there is a group of scientists from the University of Southampton who devised a data storage possibly meant for ‘eternal’ use – the Superman Crystals.
It all started in 2013 when the same group discovered the capabilities of this so called Superman Crystals. But it turned out to have a very limited storage by that time. These Superman Crystals are actually nanostructured glasses which are thermally-consistent up to 1000°. That is why it is capable of saving about 360 Terabytes of information despite its tiny size.
But not only that! Unlike the now outdated CDs and DVDs which made their fame during the late 90s and earlier 2000s, and even the latest and biggest portable flash disks and external hard drives, this nanotechnology can save your files for over billions of years. Whenever you store up a file in this Superman Crystal, you will be assured that it can stay safe and sound there for life. In short, your files can actually even outlive you.
Some of the significant files which are currently stored inside this important advancement of technology are the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Magna Carta, and of course, the King James Bible.
Researchers are still currently looking for ways to enhance and manufacture this innovation for market availability.
