Internet of Things, 3D printing, NFC—the Fastest Growing Technology of this year

Large data, 3D Print, activities and information exchange, network TV, NFC payment, cloud computing and flat-panel technologies are the fastest growing technologies, according to 2012 Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies released by International Research and Consultant Institute Gartner.

Gartner analysts said the development cycle for these technologies has shown a evident change since 2011,which is projected to step into plateau phase with stable production within 2 to 5 years, and then the development curve represents a downward trend from 5 to 10 years. The 2012 Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies report pointed out technology and trend in over-expected peak stage includes: BYOD (carrying your own devices to work), 3D printing, and community analysis.

These technologies are claimed as “tipping point technology”, which include carrying own devices, smarter things, pricing data and global-scale computing services, interacting with technology through humane way, payment method which can be realized in the future, the possibility of saving customers’ voice data, technology of conducting 3D printing at home. In technical level, once these “tipping point technologies” become mature, the scenario envisaged is expected to be achieved.
