How to Choose the Suitable UPS Capacity

The rated capacity is the maximum output power of UPS.

Usually on the market, UPS power supply with smaller capacity is marked with “W” for the unit; More than 1 KWH, with “VA” mark, “W” and “VA” values are different. We need to choose the UPS according to specific conditions. Generally speaking, the small capacity UPS within 1kw usually uses “W”, capacity in 1 KVA ~ 500 KVA UPS usually is marked with the VA.

So in our computer equipment selection for UPS power supply, how to choose the right UPS capacity is important. If choice is not proper, it will cause damage to the equipment or the waste of money. Therefore, the correct choice of the capacity of the UPS to network management personnel is important.

The actual load conditions: P = ∑ Pi/f

That is the sum of all the actual load ∑ Pi, divided by power factor f, f = 0.6 ~ 0.8, then it can get the actual load capacity P.

Enlarging Preparing

Considering the possibility of business development, under the condition of not to enlarge additional investment, increasing the UPS output capacity, can be realized through two ways:

A: choose the UPS products which can realize enlarging capacity easy, such as modular UPS product.

B: forward buying large capacity UPS, but you should spend a lot of money in advance.

Output voltage

UPS output voltage points to the voltage for load equipment use such as the computer put out by the utility after UPS plastic, filtering, and a series of measures. This voltage general is cleaner than the utility voltage, there is no impurity signal. Usually the output voltage UPS should be stable in 220 V, without too much deviation.

Output voltage frequency

General power grid frequency standards is 50 Hz or 60 Hz, UPS allows line frequency has certain range, in that range, UPS simultaneous tracking the power frequency. The actual output frequency is the output voltage frequency.
